What are the Ingredients of a Healthy Meal?
A healthy meal consists of many different ingredients, without one or two of them, the meal will not be as nutritious. The first ingredient that is needed in a healthy meal are carbohydrates. Carbohydrates give you energy and help keep your body going throughout the day. A good source for carbohydrates are brown rice, whole wheat breads/pastas, beans and cereals including oatmeal.
Another key ingredient to a healthy meal is protein which helps build muscle mass in your body. Some examples of proteins include lean meats such as turkey or chicken breast along with fish, eggs and low-fat dairy products like yogurt or milk.
Finally fruits and vegetables are an essential part of any healthy meal because they provide vitamins, minerals that our bodies need to function properly. They also fill us up so we don’t overeat!
